Atlanta Fire Damage Restoration

Atlanta Fire Damage Restoration

One fire, several work scopes: what Atlanta homeowners should ask

Smoke cleaning, firefighting water and later rebuilding answer different questions. Keep their boundaries visible in the first proposal.

The first estimate may address only one problem

After entry is cleared, a business may propose cleaning, drying or stabilization first. Ask which areas were assessed and which conditions remain unresolved. The presence of firefighting water does not make smoke residue irrelevant, and visible soot does not establish the condition inside a wet wall.

A shared building adds approval questions

For Atlanta-area apartments and condos, tell the assessor about access restrictions, adjacent units and the person who can authorize work. Do not assume a unit owner can approve changes to common ventilation or shared building systems. Ask the manager or association who coordinates those decisions and how findings will be shared.

Define the next handoff

Ask what records are needed before finishes are replaced and who approves rebuilding. Keep temporary protection and cleaning separate from structural or electrical repairs. The local address and actual proposed work determine the responsible permit authority; an Atlanta mailing label alone does not identify the jurisdiction.

  2. AssessmentBusiness records rooms, materials and work limits.
  3. Written scopeYou clarify charges, exclusions and approvals.
  4. Completion recordsKeep findings before the rebuilding handoff.
